back to fall -- fashion pick six.

Today was a hot day in the Tri-Cities! Hit 101 degrees here and it just so happened to be the day we had to load up the van and my car with all my college stuff to move back! It's all done though and in the morning we will head out way to early towards Kirkland to move me back. School, work, friends, Tim.... time to go back to a good year that I'm excited for!

For the next fall fashion post:: Blazers, Coats and Vests

OF course featured in fall color red. But can you believe it? Puffy jackets and vests are back? The nice feature of this falls collection though is the silhouettes. You can show off your waste with a belt or fitted blazer and not look to bulky with all the layers!

I love this fall trend! It's classy and inspired by vintage coats. Ann Taylor as a great trench jacket as well as Banana Republic.

.back to fall -- fashion pick four.

Hello World! (or small blog world)

You'll diffidently find some promising outfits come next week! I move back to Kirkland Friday for school! I'm excited for classes to start up again and see my friends again. And did I mention get to be closer to Tim? =)

So as far as fashion pick numero four!!

Leapord Print::

A must for your animal print for the fall! It's interesting to me how animal print fashion rotates in seasons as well. This one is very chic and can be pulled of very classy!

 It's time for an early bed! Pedicure in the morning and some last minute back to school shopping!

.back to fall -- fashion pick two.

Why hello! What a wonderful day spent relaxing and hanging out with the family! Went to church this morning and listened to my past speak about the significance of prayer. It was good and actually lined up with something God shared with me earlier in the week. Came home to dinner with the family and  then read a couple chapters in a book I'm reading! Following that, I went kayaking with Dad about 7 miles on the river! Took a little over two hours in a two man kayak and it was fun!

As for today's fashion pick::

.back to fall -- fashion pick one.

Wooo!!! Hello again! It's been too longs since I've blogged. Two weeks to be exact! These past two weeks have been exciting and constantly busy! The first week I was a counselor at Royal Family Kids camp, a camp for foster kids. I was paired with two incredible girls for the week that kept me running the entire time. It was not an easy week, but God granted me with patience that week and in return I also received the blessings of those little girls!

The second week I spent in Bellevue training and working at my new job -- Ann Taylor! I am extremely excited about this new team I get to work with and lead as a Sales Lead. I learned a lot about the history of Ann Taylor and it's beliefs. Ann Taylor originated when a young man gave a "shirt dress" as a gift in 1964. The person recieving this gift decided to open up a store to sell these dresses. The dress was called "Ann" so the store became "Ann Taylor" after adding the title "Taylor" to specify the extents of what the store did (taylor clothing). Today the store obviously sells more then "Ann" dresses and has grown incredibly. Interesting huh?

The new job is going to increase my fashion knowledge as well and I'm excited for that. I have already learned so much. Including how to increase the amount of clothes in my closet. =)

So... first fashion pick for back to fall....

MILITARY DETAILS::

1) Buckle Detailing:: love, love, love this detail. Gives an ordinary top or bottom a little extra style. I just bought these bottoms from Ann Taylor and absolutely love them.

2) Military Buttons:: check this cute jacket from Maurices here!

3) Trench Coats:: (shop here)

4) Boots:: find these Madden Girl boots here

.a little natural.

The rage right now is to have all natural beauty products that are better for your skin. But a thought for you ladies out there... I challenge you to going natural once ever week or two weeks. Natural as in don't wear makeup, don't use products on your hair, or use heat when styling your hair. Give your skin and hair a break by just applying some moisturizer for the day and letting your hair air dry after you wash it.

I know I know, actually go without makeup and styling your hair! Pick a day where you aren't going anywhere. Or a day that doesn't consist of a lot of running. Your hair and skin will love you for the break. Trust me.

I've do this a lot in the summer and my hair is always so much softer and my skin appears healthier then during the fall, winter and spring where I give them little breaks. Today was one of those days..

I also found found this awesome 1960s wood 24-slot coke crate today at a garage sale for $4. Did some research and finding the average selling price to be around $40-$50. Now that's a steal. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet, but it was too cool to pass up!

.you'll get there, trust me.

So today was the last day of work at Maurices! Bittersweet -- excited to be moving back to school and starting a new job at Ann Taylor, yet sad to be leaving all the wonderful friends I work with. They are friendships I hope I always have. Next week I go to Royal Family Kids Camp (a camp for foster kids that I'm a counselor at). It's the best week of the year. The following week I'll start my new job. The next week I'll be home hanging out with Grandma and family while packing up, and the next week I'll move back up to Kirkland. A little crazy how fast the summer went.

This morning I was thinking how incredible it is to see people go where they want to go -- to reach their dreams. To do the things they once only could think about. It's a beautiful  thing to see people doing what they love everyday, passionately. And even though we may not feel like we'll ever get to that point, every single day is a step to the direction of God's awesome plan. One day closer to reaching that dream. You'll get there. It just may take others longer.

So today's outfit::

I bought this awesome little fashion tool called a "Hip Hugger." I bought it at Maurices today, of course.
This fashion-saving item works like a belt that clips to your belt loops around the back of your pants. It holds up your pants up without the bulk of a belt. Perfect for wearing under light or form fitting tops that show every line. Not only will you not have to worry about your pants staying up, but you will look thinner without adding thickness to your waistline. I'd recommend it to anyone!

.favorite little dress.

I'm so happy to finally wear my favorite dress and favorite over sized sweater -- together! I've been dying to do this look but I just recently got the sweater and wasn't sure what dress to wear it with! So... WA LA! The outfit!
Honestly these are all some of my favorite pieces =)

A pretty simple day indeed, but enjoyed it.

.all that glitz.

My friend shared this DIY necklace today! I think it's awesome (How To: Film Negative Necklace)...

Materials (Film Negatives, Scissors, jump rings, needle-nosed pliers, jewelry wirse, beads, chain, clasps)

Step 1: Cut the strips of negatives into individual frames.
Step 2: Link the frames together with jump rings. Use the pliers to twist the jump rings open, slip on the frames, then twist the rings closed.
Step 3: Add beads to the necklace. Attach a length of wire to the outer edge of the negative, and then thread a stack of beads onto it. Use the pliers to bend the end of the wire into a loop.
Step 4: Attach 7" of chain to each side of the necklace. Then use jump rings to connect the clasps to the chain.

.lookbook.

I just learned something interesting -- ever stain your favorite top with oil or grease? Well here is a tip to get the stain out. I have yet to try this, but thought it was worth sharing because it only had positive reviews!

Sprinkle some cornstarch or baking soda on the stain, then place the garment, stain side down, on a large rag on top of an ironing board. Iron with a hot iron on the wrong side of the stain. Supposedly, most oil and grease stains will come right out.

Let me know if you try this!

I've also learned of a site called "lookbook." It's where hundreds of people post their fashion and outfits! What an awesome inspiration to find fashion ideas and see what people are wearing around the world!
These are a few of my favorite looks I've found so far...

Over sized shirts and sweaters, saddle shoes, saltwater sandals, and flowy bright vintage skirts. That is what it's all about...

As for my outfit for the day::
{swag:: Maurices // Dress:: Buffalo Exchange (Massimo) // Sandals:: Maurices}

.first real sewing project.

Why hello again! My day started super early with work at 6am! It was time for a new floor set and marketing set up for the fall so the whole gang was there! It's crazy to think this is my last week of work at Maurices. I feel so greatly blessed by all the ladies I work with! They are always so uplifting and fun to be with and I appreciate the encouragement all the time!

After pulling out 200 push pins and then pushing in 200 more push pins into the wall for our new Marketing, and after having very sore thumbs, I went to church and then came home to sew the rest of my skirt! I like how it turned out! Here's the finished product!

I like the pattern and style! It will go great with oversized sweaters, a  beaded loose tank, blouses, button up satin shirts, belted, with or without tights... the point being it's a very versatile skirt for many outfits.

Today's outfit:::
{sweater:: a.n.a // tank:: maurices // Jeans:: Silvers // Heals:: Madden Girl}

My friend Briana has been making cakes! She does an incredible job and I thought I'd share a few of her cakes!

Have a good night!
