.pretty frosted nails.

I absolutely love this nail color! It's such a subtle baby pink that it almost looks like a silver! The color is from Maurices and their new line of nail polish!

I didn't work today, so I wanted a cool outfit that would be comfortable for hanging around the house, cute, and also that I would be able to wear to serve at the union gospel mission in pasco today! I love this ruffle top with the criss-cross back. I love this scarf that my sister from Israel gave me! Worked great as a headband today!

.snake shoes.

Happy Wednesday! You've survived half way through the week! woo!

As a college student living in the dorms, my mind is always churning creative ideas to decorate and make the room less "dormish." This next year I have this awesome opportunity to host students who are coming to visit the school! I'll have my own room as a result but will have two set of bunks in my room! So I'm excited for the creative opportunities I have to decorate the entire room! What to do though....

I found this creative Idea of putting fabric up on the walls. What do you think? I also like the idea of just doing simple wall art and taping up a creative design...

A few days ago I posted about fall shoes! I'm happy to find these guys hidden in my closet and able to say I'm ready to start the season off with a pair of snake skin shoes in such a fun color!

This is today's outfit for the day::

.fall 2011 color pick.

So of course I've already started to do a little research on falls fashion! As a thrifter I am trying to get into the mind set of thinking into the next season when I find a good price! Cause reality is, those gem items may not be there come smack in the middle of the new style season! So thanks to Harpers Bazzar I have found fall 2011's season color (at least one of them)! And the color is....drum rolllll..... SCARLET RED! What a gorgeous color to be in style!

So keep your eyes pealed for those awesome red pieces that will work fantastic into the fall! I started my looking off with a red button up oxford shirt at target in a heavier cotton material. On clearance for the summer for $5, but will be a great mix it up piece for the fall!

Today's outfit of the day::

thrifting designer labels.

Today I made a spontaneous stop by Value Village to see whether I could find a few bottles for my window sill decor! I'm hoping to have an eclectic collection of cool shaped bottles in different colors! I found two wonderful ones to start off the collection today -- one of which is a antique avon glass pitcher which I bought for $1 and was going for $15 online.
I love them both and think they are fun! I can't find my original inspiration, but I'll be sure to post when my idea is complete!

I also thrifted a Elisabeth Hasselbeck for Dialogue jacket today that I'm absolutely in love with! It will be a great fall piece! I bought it for $12 and found it originally priced at $80 online! Now that's a good deal!
In like new condition! click here to see jacket on site)

So this is the outfit for the day. Since today was a lazy day, it's pretty casual.

.maxi dress.

So I finally went for it and bought the military boots! I'm excited to wear them this fall and I don't regret the purchase!

Summer is a wonderful time for Maxi dresses! I am falling in love with them and finally bold enough to actually wear them! Last summer I bought two Maxi dresses and hardly wore them. In fact I only wore them while I was in Hawaii.So I've broken them out of hiding! This simple maxi is from Forever 21!

This necklace is an antique shop find! Love it!
{Swag:: Maurices // Maxi Dress:: Forever 21 // Sandals:: So // Belt:: American Eagle // Necklace:: Antiqued}

Where have you bought your favorite maxi dresses? Here are a few new ones if you're looking for a great maxi find!

Maurices (love this dressy maxi that can be worn out or paired with a denim jacket to make more casual) ::

 H&M(a great cover up for the beach or going out dress with the light fabric)::
Target (a floral maxi is my personal favorite. So many ways to wear it and mix and match) ::

Etsy (A more artistic spin on a maxi dress. This vintage maxi is wonderful! A great color might I add) ::

Make the most of this week! night!

.fall 2011 shoes sneak peak.

I've been contemplating whether I should buy these grey military boots that went on clearance at Maurices. Boots are so in right now in Seattle. I guess it's the Indie style. And I'm in a battle with myself as to whether they will still be in this fall when I head back to Seattle. The boots are fantastic, but will the savings be worth the cost I buy them for over how many times I wear them?
As I contemplated the purchase... I did a little fashion research for fall 2011 shoes that will be in style! Never too early to start thinking about next seasons fashions! This is what I found!
1) Reptile Skins::

2) Patent Leather::

3) Suede::

4) Satin::
 5) Platforms and Wedges::
 6) Lacing::
 7) Buckles::
 8) Chunky Heal::
 9) Spike Heal::
 10) Socks and Heals::

 What do you guys think of the upcoming styles? I have diffidently already seen many of them in stores! My growing on my favorite is the socks and heals style! Thanks www.millionlooks.com for the preview!

Todays outfit:
 I absolutely love this ring I bought last year at a small boutique in the Tri-cities called Lemongrass. It's a hand made ring made from clay! Love it!

.high low hem button up.

Woo! It's Friday! Any fun plans for the weekend? I'll spend mine working, but I enjoy work... so that is ok! I will also be trying to get Prom dress donations. This past year I have been working with an organization called "Treehouse" in Seattle (http://www.treehouseforkids.org/) . The organization works with foster kids in multiple ways to make sure they get the best from what they can in life! One way they do this is by allowing the girls in foster care in the Seattle area pick out a prom dress from what they have gotten donated and also get manicures, have their hair done, and their makeup done! What an awesome way to treat this young women! If you are interested and live in the tri-cities, I am looking for prom dresses to be donated that I can take to this organization! Dresses need to be in good condition. Imagine you wearing it to your senior prom again. So far I have 15 dresses.

Ahh! This has to be my favorite piece in my closet! This is my third time wearing the high low hem button up top and none of those times I have worn it the same way! It is such a great "mix it up" top that can be worn creatively so many different ways! the two hem lengths in the front and the back make it a unique piece that allows you to be creative in your fashion!

.lacy burnout t thursday.

A pretty ordinary day! Another day at work and coming home to fill out a job application to Dutch Bros for a second job opportunity! I found this little get away on Tumblr. today and thought it was gorgeous! A small area perfect for relaxing, reading, or hanging out with friends! All the pillows and light fabrics make it a warm and inviting place to relax! Of course living in tri-cities everything would get blown away with the  wind! Or my second home in Seattle, everything would just get wet from the rain all the time! It is beautiful!

I've been dying for some way to give my hair some volume. I've tried shampoos, but still not the volume I've been hoping for. So I tried a new hair spray and it worked incredibly! Pantene's light hairspray gives volume to fine hair and adds texture. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to add volume but has finer hair.

DIY: sweatshirt remake // bulletin board

Ever have a favorite clothing item and it get's stained or rips to the point where you can't wear it? Have you attempted to fix it? That's what this DIY is about! My favorite basic sweatshirt mysteriously got bleach on the front of it and on the sleeves, so I was determined to fix it! My solution? Create an embellishment that would cover the bleached spots! I love the finished result!

Before::

After::
 All it took was some felt, floss, some cute fabric with an owl print, the backing for the felt, and a sewing needle! An easy fix! And with the cost of clothing now a days, it's diffidently worth revamping those pieces that are your favorite!

I ended up doing the same thing for a magnetic dry erase board from IKEA. I wanted a new bulletin board for my dorm in the fall, so I just revamped one I had lying around the house! This is the result!

 The right side is still dry erase, the left side will have magnets, and the little cards let people know whether I'm in my room or not! =)

What's your favorite DIY project?

.serve.

This morning I had the opportunity to serve lunch at the mission! It was an awesome experience! I plan on doing it throughout the summer and I hope to get to know several of the homeless people who come and eat there. I was surprised that the servers didn't try harder to get to know the people who were coming in. But I hope I can have an impact there this summer! Are you serving anywhere this summer? Not serving anywhere? Find out where there are opportunities open in your community! This is a good site to check out: www.volunteermatch.org

Today was warm in the Tri-Cities! Hit 90 degrees today so I needed something cool, yet something I could cover up in the evening when I went to a movie with my brother. (Sorry the quality of the picture isn't wonderful today)
