.Inspiring Light.

Inspiring Light.

Once Full of passion.

Each day an exciting journey.

Joy found in sunrise
and Peace found in sunset
every moment a waking dream
living
breathing
loving
laughing.

Each small part
taken in light
for the love and grace surround.
from young to old
from sad to happy
each individual a new
face to inspire
and be inspired.

Life inspire round
with little fear or doubt.
what joy may capture my soul
and fill it
making it whole again.

remind my heart of love once around
not of beings but of hearts
each filled with stories
all filled with passion and faith.
For so still exist but must be sought out
to find thy hope for me.

Must I let my heart be free
and fear not of breaking wings
for when I fly but one second
is better then life bound in chains.

So fly with wings like eagles
and see what lies around.
Hearts and lives of
grace
life
love
light
and above all passion that abounds grace.

Be free and fly
Let life inspire passion.

.dove chocolate.

MMM.... I think I had too many pieces of dove chocolate today, but boy was it satisfying to my taste buds as I continue to work on this paper at 1:00 in the morning! A good day today! Painted this afternoon after class and finally finished my painting after a lot of frustration. Went to work and had a great day, despite the slowness, and came back and did homework!

It's so cold!!! Average temp was 40 degrees Fahrenheit!

.scentsy.

Scentsy warmers use a low-watt bulb to slowly melt specially formulated wax that is scented. the scent lasts about a week, and then it's time to change the cube. I absolutely love my scentsy and use it all the time in my dorm room! The reason I'm talking about it tonight is because I just got more wax in the mail today! I'm excited.

I bought French Lavender, Whiteout, pumkin roll (which I'm not actually a huge fan of), Festivals of Trees, Autumn sunset, and cozy fireside. =)

.start something that matters.

I'm so excited to have bought this book! Though I don't know how much time I'll have to read in between homework, I decided I needed something I'll enjoy reading that is not school work. The book "Start Something that Matters" by the founder of Toms, Blake Mycoskie, is about inspiring to start something great to make change. This book surrounds the idea of exactly what I want to do, start a nonprofit to benefit foster kids.
Even better? For every book purchased, a new children's book is given to a child in need.

A triple date today with some of Tim's friends. Ate pizza, played games, hung out, and watched the movie Megatron will eating Honey Popcorn! =)

.flight booked.

Random blessing today:: my second class got canceled today, so I was able to study another hour and have some God time before my Psalms mid-term! I ended up getting an 86% on my mid-term, which I'm happy with. I was above the class average of 82%.

My mom booked my flight for thanksgiving! I'm excited to go home even just for three days. What will you be doing for thanksgiving?

.RED dress.

So here's the dress! Though I felt super dressed up in class today, I enjoyed wearing my new red dress! I received multiple compliments about the dress while working today! We are getting a fabulous blue one in for the winter if you're interested! Though it's not yet posted on the site nor in the store! Come this Sunday though, and you'll find it!

You can obviously tell I'm in mid-term week because my bed isn't bed. So don't mind it! Time to study!
Goodnight!

.roasted pumpkin seeds.

MMM! Love roasted pumpkin seeds! A sure way to know fall is here! And since your carving pumpkins, why not make a delicious snack while you are at it!

2 c. Pumpkin seeds
2 Tbsp. butter (melted)
1 tsp. salt

Rinse seeds well and stir with butter in a bowl. Spread in a single layer on a cookie sheet. Sprinkle salt on top.
Bake at 250 Degrees until slightly brown (usually about 30-45 minutes).
Cool and Enjoy! =)

.10 short thing's I've learned from college.

While talking with a friend today who's going through her first year of college, I realized just how much I have learned from when I first started college! Here are a few things::

1) The dorms are usually only really hot for the first two weeks of school, after that -- they are freezing!

2) Study in intervals of 20 minutes. As in study, take a snack break, paint your nails, straighten your room, change laundry, make some coffee... do something besides study. You remember things better when it's in short intervals.

3) Don't worry -- seriously. Things will work out. Whether it's your major, the homework pile on your desk stacked high and due the next day, it will get done. So don't stress. Just trust God.

4) Keep up on your dishes - because mold develops quicker then your realize.

5) Stay up on projects -- don't save them for the last minute

6) Take time to have fun. Whether that means doing your homework a little later, just take a break to develop relationships.

7) Make time for yourself - not you and your friends, you and your homework - time for you to do what you want and relax.

8) {ET} Phone Home

9) Always have backup food in your room for days when the caff just wont do.

10) Volunteer & work -- do things connected to what you want to do!

Just a few short thoughts! Mod Pizza and pumpkin carving tonight with  tim! It was really fun!

.I've survived to day 5!.

It's day 5 of running! An I'm still alive! Just thought I would point that out! =)

I love reading "A Cup of Jo"'s Blog! She had this cute post about modern fairy tale covers and thought I would share them!

.Highest High Heals.

this morning started out early for a Saturday! I had to be at the Kirkland waterfront by 8:30 to take pictures for the 5k I mentioned in yesterday's blog. I will say it's great to get back into doing some photography work! I haven't done much since moving to Seattle! It's just about connecting with people in this area. So if you ever need a photographer and you are in the Seattle area, let me know! Lindsay, my RA from last year, brought me coffee in payment for photography. So excited to see that woman. She's phenomenal! I have plenty of pictures, but this is just one I quickly grabbed...

Following that, I got ready for the day and headed to work! I may have been crazy to wear my highest heals, but I actually survived the 6 hour shift without killing my feat! I just haven't worn these heals in so long... I have two things to note of this pictures. 1) Don't look at my hair.... 2) Don't mind my messy room.
It was kind of one of those days where I was running around like crazy!

Oh! One more thing. I bought some Teavana Chai Loose leaf tea that I'm really excited for. A little expensive, but the tea is well worth it.

.ann taylor winter collection peak.

It's the weekend!!! Wooo! I'm spending mine working, taking photos for a 5k run for an organization called "Shoes" that my friend is part of, and studying for an upcoming midterm. Exciting huh? Well I did get a care package from home today. Filled with cookies, a magazine, and a few other random things! I love my family!

Ann Taylor will be getting their new collection next week! We are previewing a few pieces already though! My favorite? This blue skirt!

As for today's outfit!

October 13, 2011

.Couch to 5k.

Hello again! If you know anything about me, I'm always setting new goals and coming up with new things to accomplish and overtake! So here is another one!

Couch to 5k! I hate running. Correction -- I would love to run if I was good at it. But every time I go running, I have an asthma attack. But this workout plan gets you gradually running. Carley and I did the first part today and I survived! It pushed me just enough, but gradually I will build endurance. Better then going out and feeling defeated after going out and even trying just to run a mile!

Goal? Run a 5k by Spring/early summer. That's three and a half miles without stopping. I can do that! Carley may join me in the task.

Time to get on some homework! Didn't get a chance to take an outfit picture because I worked out and showered and put on sweats before realizing I needed to take a pic of my cute outfit! My workout attire just wouldn't do!
Goodnight!

.amazing dress or needed purse?.

Woo! It was a good day! I...

*did alright on my accounting test
*time managed well
*worked on my painting for like an hour and a half
*Got $25 because Tim decided to go to Banner Bank and mentioned I recommended he go there
*am alive
*had a good day at work. Slow, but productive as far as getting the store straightened and filled!

I'm just happy. Despite that tonight will be another very late night with this paper ahead of me due tomorrow. It's ok. God's presence is strong in my life and I love it.

Question!!! These two wonderful pieces are on sale right now at Ann Taylor and I love them both! I bought both with intention to return one... which one should I keep?

The red chili pepper dress -  an amazing, unique dress that I probably won't ever find another one like...

Or the Leather purse - I've never owned a real leather purse before... all my purses  have broken handles and I could really use a purse that will last me a long time. Not to mention it's really roomy inside!

What's your opinion??

.The Wizzard of Oz.

I was reading through one of my text books and thought this was really interesting! Did you know that The Wizard of Oz was based off of a book by L. Frank Baum that dealt with one of the hottest political debates going on in America at the time? When the story was written, America was deciding whether to use the gold standard as the basis for the US dollar or whether she should switch to silver. Remember that although the yellow brick road led ot the great wizard of Oz, once Dorothy arrived there, she discovered he was a fraud. Dorothy's real hope lay in her shoes (which in the book were silver). The characters in the story then probably represent different segments of American society. the Scarecrow represents the farmers (supposedly, no brains). The Tin Woodsman the factory workers (no heart). And the cowardly lion perhaps the political leadership of the country. the wicked witch of the east (the east coast establishment) and the wicket witch of the west (the west coast establishment). The hero being Dorothy from Kansas, or middle America. Interesting huh?

Just I little thing I thought I would share that I thought was cool.

.starting the day of right.

I saw this post going around on facebook this morning and loved it! This is sooo true! What do you think?

Today I didn't have classes, so I spent the morning studying, having an awesome prayer time with coffee in the coffee cup Tim made me, and doing a few chores. I worked this afternoon, hence why my entire outfit is Ann Taylor today! OH!!! AND IT'S MY BROTHERS 17th BIRTHDAY!!! Happy birthday little bro! Called and chatted with him a few minutes!

I absolutely love this sweater! The buttons are on the back! So cute....

Another day at work! Another day to be reminded of how much I love my job! 40% off entire store right now at Ann Taylor so the amount of people shopping has been crazy! I love it though. So if you are looking for a good deal, come shopping this weekend at Ann Taylor. =)

A beautiful day! The mountains were stunning this morning as I drove to Rococo cafe to meet up with Carley and study.I finally talked .to my mom for a little bit today. Updated her on life. I'm missing home some right now and excited to go back home and visit for a bit -- hopefully thanksgiving!

.a morning devotion.

Goodmorning!
Though I know all of you who read my blog believe in Christ as your Savior, or even that there is a God, by my relationship with God is soo important to me. It's what get's me through each day. This morning I had an awesome time with God and he gave me this "poem" of worship and I wanted to share it. I love when I can worship God with words in this form. It's such a blessing to me.

Morning Worship
I'm at peace.
I'm happy.
When I come into your presence for rest you fill me.
You satisfy my soul
Your grace picks me up
and surrounds me with love.

For you are the God that gave so that I may live.
And in return
I devote each day to you
A fraction of what I can do
compared to your love

Though I can not see your physical face,
your spirit is physically here
and it carries me.

Without you my life is empty.
You bless me day to day with the sight of the sun
or a smiling face
on someone I love.

Your beauty is everlasting
and i pray it reflects through my soul.

God how wonderful you are
as you sit upon your throne.
A God who loves
but will anger when love is defied.
That is a true God that I will devote all my days to.
That I will commit my heart and soul to.
That I will fall to my knees and worship.

Blessed are you Lord
and Oh how you bless my soul.

.indigo girls.

Woo! It's Friday! Hope you are all ready for the weekend! I sure am! A chance to rest, even if I'm not working. Today I went to value village and found the awesome 80's sweatsuit jacket I've been looking for for years! It's asics and is blue, red, and flouresent yellow. Carley and I also purchased two CDs at random from Value village in hopes to find some random music! We did indeed! I successfully picked two CDs. Our favorite of the two being "Indigo Girls." A 90s Folk Rock band with thoughtful lyrics.

I met up with Becca Bolla, my potential leader for small group for church, and we talked for an hour and half at this coffee shop called "the Lyons Den."

Oh and did I mention Car and I rearranged my room today? I haven't posted any pictures of my room because I knew I was going to rearrange it. I'll post some pictures tomorrow, because I love how it turned out!

Goodnight!

.SAM.

Considering I was up till 3:30 last night, this post won't be very long! But and update on today! I went to the Seattle Art Museum today for my painting class! It is free to the public the first Thursday of every month, so we took advantage of that. I loved it! We were only there for an hour and a half, but I know I could have spent longer going through and reading about all the art. I think what I like most about art is the history and the emotion that it brings to the viewer. It tells a story.

.living the life.

Yup. Living the Life. I'm happy. Despite the fact that I will probably be pulling an all nighter to get my homework done tonight, I'm happy. I've got a great job doing two things I love - working with people and constantly being in the loop about fashion. School is going pretty good despite the craziness. AND i had an awesome date night last night where Tim cooked me dinner, we went to gasworks parked and just walked and I awed at the Seattle sky line, and then watched Transformers 3 (which I've been dying to see).

Tonight I'm the proud owner of a new suit! Spent $100 ($80 on the jacket originally $230 and $20 on the skirt originally $150) on the suit that is made of wool and from Ann Taylor! It was on sale and since I will be needing a suit for classes coming up, i decided to buy it now. It's navy and is a skirt/jacket set. Love it! It makes me feel all professional.

It was freezing this morning when I got up, so I picked out my comfy sweater with boots. I wore my purple fuzzy socks to keep my feet nice and toasty in the pouring rain. Here's to a good, crazy, busy, loving life day.

.friday night.

It's Friday! Time to make sometime for yourself and relax a little! Let go of the stress built of from this week and trust in God to lead you through the following week!

My day consisted of class, relaxing, budgeting my pay checks and running errands for groceries! Followed by a concert in the Aerie and a movie with Carley! Another day of not working, so my outfit is more casual...

September 30, 2011

.comfy denim shirt day.

What a wonderful day today! Perfect fall weather -- sunshine and a slight chill in the air! Didn't do any homework because I've suffered the past few nights so I wouldn't have to do it today. Hosting two girls interested in Northwest University has been fun! Took one of the girls to improv and Bubble Tea and had a great time! Lot's of laughs. I had a pumpkin spice latte today from Starbucks to end my month of store bought coffees and start the month of October in which I will not be buying ANY coffee. I can make it myself -- but no easy made for me and bought coffee. The challenge begins!

I've been dying to find and wear a denim shirt! I finally found one from H&M for $20 that was absolutely perfect! I can wear it with leggings, tied up, tucked in to jeans....

It was Thursday, I haven't had much sleep, had only a few classes, and was going to be hanging out with two girls who I was hosting for the night! Occasion seemed perfect for this comfy, yet cute outfit!

September 28, 2011

.RED.

What a wonderful day to be alive! Even though I was up till 3am finishing this guy... My painting of oranges was complete and I slept a few hours last night! Woke up late, but thankfully already knew I wanted to wear my brand new red blazer...
I posted earlier this fall about the in color RED. So of course I couldn't go without sharing my red piece. I found this one antique from a store called "Red Light" on the Ave in the U-District. So excited about this find! =)

Tonight will consist of another late night studying. But after work I sat with Tim at Rococo and chatted it up. I'll take the small amount of time we get together. I really appreciated doing that tonight despite the mounds of homework due tomorrow and Friday sitting in front of me. I'm ready to go though because I've had a great day...

.I miss blogging!.

Ahh! I miss you blogging world! My thoughts are so easily conveyed through typing words and I love summing up each day in a short blog post! And my obsession with fashion is growing and doesn't have a place to be shared besides me walking around... I wouldn't call it a negative obsession though. For me it's more like an art. A chance to be creative everyday in recombining my pieces for new outfits! Though today's outfit is my recent Ann Taylor purchase ... I love it! It was a step out of my comfort zone, but I ended up walking confident in it by the end of the day!

A maxi skirt was on my fall must fashion list. This one is great (from Ann Taylor of course) because of the little flair and pleating in the back at the bottom to give it some shape. Over sized, comfy sweaters are a must for the fall and into the winter season! Combine the two and WA LA!!! ...

September 21, 2011

.my life beyond fashion.

It's midnight and I have homework ahead of me, coming off a 6 hour shift at work! Today the lady at Starbucks asked if I wanted an extra shot. After hesitating and deciding yes, she replied "I thought so." What does that mean? haha I needed to blog though. Yes I know this is supposed to be a fashion blog, and I haven't blogged fashion for a while, but sometimes my life goes much more than fashion. Sometimes I just need time to reflect and think about my "inner fashion" (yes-- cheesy I know) instead of what I'm wearing on the outside.

I'm so incredibly blessed. Though with this schedule of mine, it's a constant reliance on God to get me through each day. Little things come up and I ask why? ... Yet it is still God that gets me through each day. I've decided I need one night a week to me. 100% me. Not me and homework, not me and friends -- just me and wherever I decide to place myself. Whether that is in my room listening to worship music, painting my nails, reading magazines, and scrapbooking... or at a thrift store somewhere wandering around the wonderful treasures! It's gonna be my night. Even if it's just for a couple hours....

I miss Tim. We both have crazy schedule's right now, so even though we are in the same city, even at the same school, we hardly ever get to see each other except for a few minutes when each of us are passing and going in different directions. I appreciate what we have though. I know this season will pass, so in the mean time take advantage of each moment.

Goodnight,
liz rose

September 14, 2011

.incredible blessings.

God has so incredibly blessed my life recently that I need to write an entire blog post about it. Yup, dedicated just to the blessings. First off, God has blessed me financially -- not that I'm rich, but every time God provides me with my needs. Sometimes even a few wants. For example, the other day I unexpectedly received a $50 Visa Gift Card from Ann Taylor for the store meeting goals last quarter. That allowed me to buy an antenna for my room so I have cable now! =)

My second huge blessings is time management. It's a miracle life is going as smoothly as it is. 17 credits at school, 25 hours of work a week, homework, and still time to have friend time, hang out with Tim time, going to sports games time, and of course God time. And still staying on top of studying. Not sure how this is happening, but it's a blessing it is.

My third huge blessing? How incredible everyone is in my life right now. My boyfriend is amazing, I have awesome friends, great professors that I really respect, a wonderful family that supports me in school, an encouraging team of ladies at work...

You all just needed an update on my life right now to see the real side of me instead of just the fashion side of me. So this is it. I'm incredibly blessed.
G'night!

,adjusted back to life.

Woo! It's been a couple weeks! Finally moved back to Kirkland, settled in my dorm room, starting to get used to a work routine and learning my place, figuring out how to cram in study time while making time for dates and time with friends. Even though there has been a lot of transitioning, I'm feeling good and not stressed!

back to fall -- fashion pick six.

Today was a hot day in the Tri-Cities! Hit 101 degrees here and it just so happened to be the day we had to load up the van and my car with all my college stuff to move back! It's all done though and in the morning we will head out way to early towards Kirkland to move me back. School, work, friends, Tim.... time to go back to a good year that I'm excited for!

For the next fall fashion post:: Blazers, Coats and Vests

OF course featured in fall color red. But can you believe it? Puffy jackets and vests are back? The nice feature of this falls collection though is the silhouettes. You can show off your waste with a belt or fitted blazer and not look to bulky with all the layers!

And did I mention get to be closer to Tim? =)

.back to fall -- fashion pick two.

Why hello! What a wonderful day spent relaxing and hanging out with the family! Went to church this morning and listened to my past speak about the significance of prayer. It was good and actually lined up with something God shared with me earlier in the week. Came home to dinner with the family and  then read a couple chapters in a book I'm reading! Following that, I went kayaking with Dad about 7 miles on the river! Took a little over two hours in a two man kayak and it was fun!
